May I ask the steps you went through to make the the foliage textures?

Foliage_Leaves_01_Orange_1 and so on. I would like to learn how to make these.

Sure! The workflow is basically the same for all the textures.

For the foliage texture, I found some good reference for the colour palette and composition. I blocked out the key shapes using simple line art, I didn’t worry about small details at this stage I was just focused on getting the overall look right and making sure it tiled well. Using the line art as a guide, I then blocked out the colours (essentially colouring in the line art). I used masks on Solid Colour adjustment layers for all of this so I can easily edit them or make variations later. After that, I added detail with more Solid Colour layers and Multiply and Screen layers for shadows and highlights.

I’ve added the Foliage_Leaves 01 PSD source file to the free PSD Demo if you want to take a closer look at how it was created. I’ve also included Wood Planks 03, which uses a similar workflow.

Hope this helps!

I paid for your work :) I have all the PSDs, but thank you. Did you manually draw the shapes of the leafs? I really like the style :)

(+1)

No problem! Thanks for the support!

Yea pretty much, I drew just the outlines for the leaves until I was happy with the tiling then coloured in the leaves, then shaded and added detail to them. For the colour palette I sampled it from a reference image I found online. It does take a while to do but the results are nice.

Thanks for the elaboration, I want to learn how things like this are done so ultimately I can just recreate these sprites and textures in my own style. These textures are amazing and there is quite a lot for me to learn from with them, do you know of any good Aseprite plugins / brushes? Its my main and only tool I use for pixel art.

Thank you very much, I'm glad you are finding them useful!

I have not got much experience with Asesprite so I don't know good any brushes/plugins but I am hoping to learn more of it in the future.

Thanks for your great work! Can I change the color of some textures and use them as the background of my game?

Absolutely! Feel free to edit any of the textures and make your own. The PSD files are available to download too and all of the textures are made using Solid Color Fills which allow you to quickly and easy change any of the colours in the textures.

This is incredible. Im going to use this on a major new title, we are a company with a pretty sucessful game launched but I can't give any hints yet as it´s not announced. I´m wondering if you´d ever try a horror pack like this one?

Hey Sidecasper, thanks thats really cool to hear! I'd love to hear more about it once it's announced. Sure, if you have any ideas for textures you'd like to see let me know and I can try add them. Cheers!

This pack is absolutely the best, thanks so much for sharing

Is this compatible with unreal engine five

Yes all the textures are PNGs so Unreal Engine or Unity will have no problem with them.

Hiya, I love the textures as holding place for before I attempt my own.

I've just a comment and this is mainly to other users. If you are using TrenchBroom into Qodot, you will need to take the spaces out of the file name. :)

These assets worked fantastically well for me when using Blender to make 3D battle maps

Great work, that's looking really cool!

Hey there, safe to use these in my own commercial product?

Sure, feel free to use these assets in any personal or commericial products.

This texture pack looks gorgeous and I look forward to using it sometime soon, along with others you release!

I would like to give a suggestion for your work for maybe a secondary place of income, or two. I think your texture work is so lovely that it may work beautifully on a site like makeplayingcards dot com, where you can submit designs to place on the back of cards for people to buy, and your textures would be super fun on a deck, maybe with a little extra work.

Vida studio is also a nice place that favors patterns for design submissions for their products, and while they are expensive, they could enjoy your work on some of their products too I think.

Cafepress meanwhile has tons of products, and some would work particularly well such as notebooks, shower curtains (The blue tilework would work nicely with a shower curtain I feel in example), and the picture frame.

I could go on as there are other sites that would like your work, but those three in particular come to mind.

Really good pixel textures and the PSDs are awesome too, helped me create a lot of variants of the same texture.

Would you be creating a bigger, premium, paid pack? Would be good to get more walls, floors and decos, also ceiling textures.

Using them for an old school dungeon crawler, some screenshots below.

Thanks! Your dungeon crawler is looking great!

I am planning on adding more free textures with colour variations soon and some decoration/decal textures that can be overlayed to add more variation.

I will also include a premium version in the future with more textures, all the PSDs and normal/height/ao maps too.

Sure, looking forward for the premium pack!
